Learning Forward Evaluations
Evaluations that support organizations to find answers to programmatic questions and plan future direction.
The Rooted-Growth Process:
Conduct face-to-face meetings to understand an organization’s needs and the operational dynamics in order to determine what information will be useful for a relevant evaluation.
- Dynamics could include power dynamics, stakeholders, funding requirements or pressures, cultural/community considerations, ethical boundaries, external grantor requirements, and organizational processes/hierarchy.
- Develop an evaluation design that supports critical thinking and self-learning and supports clients to take action.
- Deliver visually appealing memos or reports with information you can use when you need them.
- Facilitate an interactive process to unpack data, incorporate youth, community, and staff feedback, and end with mutually agreed-upon next steps.
Natalie's expertise helped us to analyze the effects of our multi-year youth development. Her skill around conducting focus groups, capturing that data and generating easy to read reports of our findings was invaluable to us, especially for writing grant reports and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
